Hotel operator Montage Hotels & Resorts named Anne-Marie Houston, who joined Montage Laguna Beach as resort manager in 2017, general manager of the local flagship property this week.
Houston will continue to oversee all daily operations at the 250-room oceanfront property that opened in 2003. Forbes Travel Guide and Wine Spectator continue to award the resort and its Studio restaurant top rankings.
The resort remains one of the town’s largest employers and generates nearly $5 million in bed tax annually.
Since its founding in 2002 by Alan Fuerstman, the hotel management company has expanded to nine hotel properties.
Prior to joining Montage, Houston worked with Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas in Bangkok, Thailand, as corporate operations director. She previous was the general manager for two Madinat Jumeirah properties in Dubai, Al Qasr, Dar Al Masyaf and Malakiya Villas.
Houston graduated from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland with a degree in hospitality management and industrial studies.
